I can remember watching the intro to House of Cards – a masterpiece of time-lapse photography – and being fascinated. I had to try my hand at that. Without much homework, I made a few attempts with pretty average results. As someone said, sometimes you win, sometimes you learn!
It’s important to have some movement in the scene to create interest. On this day there were plenty of people walking on the jetty and the clouds in the sky were moving quite fast. I was lucky to also capture some lightning strikes in the distance.
This is by no stretch on anybody’s imagination a perfect attempt. All settings were set to manual but I accidentally left the white balance setting in auto – something that is clearly visible in the video. Also, for some reason, the camera decided to skip two intervals. The next attempt should be better.
