Description
Gum Trees in Warrumbungles, Warrumbungle National Park, North West Slopes, NSW
Photographed in July in Warrumbungle National Park in central-western NSW, Gum Trees in Warrumbungles captures a pair of tall ghost gums rising through dense bushland on a steep hillside. Their white trunks stand in sharp contrast against the dark rock face and the deep greens of the recovering scrub below — a composition that is both graphic and deeply Australian. Charred stems in the lower frame record the presence of past fire, while the vigour of the surrounding growth speaks to the bush’s capacity to come back. The portrait orientation and strong vertical emphasis make this a natural choice for narrow or tall wall spaces — a stairwell, hallway, or any interior that calls for something upright and quietly commanding.
