This photograph was made in September, after sunset, toward the end of the Green Car Door tour through the region — the sky already past its most intense colour, settled into a quiet gradient from deep indigo overhead down to a warm band of orange and gold along the horizon. A dead tree dominates the frame, its bare branches spread wide and asymmetrical against the fading light, every limb rendered in complete silhouette.
